Dubai is now the first in the Middle East to employ female bus drivers.
According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the first batch of three female drivers began working on July 3.
They clarified that they have been deployed on the internal bus network.
Commenting on the achievement, RTA officials explained that the move will create job opportunities for women in a field predominantly occupied by men.
It will also help promote the use of public transportation in the community.
