In a 24-hour operation, Dubai Police have seized 23 vehicles and three motorbikes for illegal modifications that caused loud noises and disturbances in Al Khawaneej area.

The crackdown was carried out by the General Department of Traffic, in partnership with Al Khawaneej Police Station and the General Department of Operations.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic, said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to promote road safety under the campaign slogan, "A Safe Road for Everyone." He added that 24 traffic fines were also issued to the violators.

Al Mazrouei emphasized that these campaigns are designed to raise awareness, reduce accidents and encourage responsible driving.

He also highlighted that under a recent decree, vehicles modified to increase speed or noise are subject to mandatory impoundment, with fines for release reaching up to AED 10,000.

The official warned against modifications that make vehicles louder or more dangerous, especially in residential areas, and urged drivers to avoid reckless behaviour that could put lives at risk.

Residents are encouraged to report any violations via the Dubai Police smart app or by calling 901.
