Dubai Police has announced it responded to 5,732 rescue missions in 2025, with an average response time of 5.6 minutes.
The recorded response time was well ahead of the Search and Rescue Department's annual target of 6.7 minutes, and the responses ranged from complex road accidents requiring extraction of trapped individuals to rescuing those injured in falls and entrapment incidents.
Those teams under the General Department of Transport and Rescue also freed children and adults trapped inside vehicles, homes and lifts, while providing specialist assistance at emergency scenes.
The figures were revealed during an annual inspection visit by Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, who reviewed the department’s operational performance, emergency preparedness and plans to introduce smarter rescue technologies.
Specifically, the review looked at how they use incident data to identify areas and roads with higher accident rates, assess the locations of rescue units and improve the deployment of personnel, vehicles and specialist equipment.
Al Marri was also briefed on development projects involving AI to improve rescue operations, vehicle management and operational decision making.
The approach is designed to help teams reach emergencies faster, allocate resources more effectively and strengthen their ability to respond proactively across Dubai.
The internal admin initiatives within Dubai Police also saw a rise in internal employee happiness to 99.84 per cent.
