The mounted police unit of Dubai Police completed 1,464 patrols across the city in 2024, covering everything from industrial zones and commercial areas to tourist hotspots.
The patrols resulted in 463 traffic violations, secured 38 sporting events, and carried out routine checks on individuals and vehicles.
They also played a key role in protecting sports facilities across the emirate.
Major General Dr. Expert Mohammed Issa Al Adhab, Director of the Mounted Police Station, says the horseback units are a vital part of Dubai’s security strategy — working closely with other police teams to strengthen public safety and boost community confidence.
He emphasized their unique advantage in patrolling narrow areas where regular vehicles can’t go, helping apprehend suspects and extend police coverage across 100 per cent of the emirate, with support from four strategically located units.
