Drones will soon be used to inspect Dubai Metro tunnels.
According to The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), drones will help generate accurate reports about the condition of the tunnels, which extend 14 km on both the Red and Green Lines.
The unmanned vehicles will allow quick and precise inspections to be carried out, especially in areas that may be difficult to access.
The custom-made drones are fitted with multiple cameras and high-definition lenses, which can instantly detect faults using infrared radiation.
Information gathered throughout the inspection process will instantly appear on a digital platform directly linked to the RTA's maintenance department.
