The Dubai Health Authority’s (DHA) ‘Doctor for Every Citizen’ has benefited more than 88,000 people in 2020.
According to the DHA, more than 7,000 telemedicine consultations were provided to COVID-19 patients and over 13,000 involved close contacts and suspected cases.
The telemedicine service, which is free of charge, provides consultations to patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through direct visual and audio communication between the patient and doctor.
This has helped reduce customers’ journey from 55 minutes to 11 minutes, achieving a high customer satisfaction rate.
Dr Alia Mohammad Rafie, Consultant family physician and Acting Director of Specialized Programme Services Department at DHA’s Primary Health Care Sector, also stressed the importance of the service especially during the current unprecedented times and challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
