Mobile phone subscribers with expired ID documents need not worry as their connections will not be disrupted.
The UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has asked service providers to put on hold the disconnection and suspension of mobile services due to the expiry of supporting documents (including Emirates ID).
The TRA has also confirmed that customers don’t have to visit the service centres or provide their documents for renewal, for the time being.
It’s the latest in a series of relief measures announced in the UAE in response to the outbreak of COVID-19.
