Intensive maintenance works have been carried out on the Dubai Metro network during the national disinfection drive.
Officials at Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) took advantage of the lockdown period in April to complete the work at a much quicker rate than usual.
The additional hours helped them finish the bulk of the project well ahead of the initial schedule, with the completion rate hitting 180 per cent in certain sections.
The work mainly focused on rail tracks, tunnels and other periodic as well as essential maintenance activities.
