A number of preventive measures are being discussed by Abu Dhabi police to minimise traffic accidents during foggy conditions. The plan focuses on additional road surveillance, in addition to restricting the movement of heavy vehicles and workers’ buses. The Traffic and Patrols Directorate is coordinating with civil defense and rescue services as well, to help control traffic on-site and improve response time to emergencies. Authorities are also intensifying awareness campaigns targeting motorists of different age groups.
