Pharmacies in Abu Dhabi will now offer COVID-19 vaccines and PCR tests.
According to the Department of Health (DoH), the vaccines will be provided free of charge and the PCR tests will be priced at AED 40.
The first phase will allow community members to take walk-in PCR tests and individuals aged 18+ receive the COVID-19 vaccination.
The programme will be later expanded to include other types of vaccinations, such as the seasonal flu and other travel vaccines.
Several pharmacies have successfully completed DoH-certified courses to administer these vaccinations.
On successful completion, the pharmacies receive the authorisation which is then added to their licence based on the Department's regulations and standards.
The Department will publish the list of licensed pharmacies online.
