Five young men aged between 18 and 20 have been injured after their SUV flipped over during off-road stunts in Dubai's Al Ruwayyah area.
Dubai Police said that a 19-year-old who was behind the wheel, made a sudden swerve while performing stunts in a sandy area, which caused the vehicle to overturn.
The driver and passengers were rushed to the hospital with injuries ranging from moderate to severe.
"Traffic patrols were quick to respond to the report of the accident at 9:00 pm on Monday," said Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police.
He warned against reckless manoeuvres and stunts, which can lead to serious accidents and injuries to pedestrians.
The official also called on parents to prevent their children from illegally modifying vehicles that can "turn into lethal tools" in the desert and on public roads.
