Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the United Kingdom on Sunday for a series of high-level meetings focused on the war in Ukraine, European security and diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.
Zelenskyy is due to hold bilateral talks with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and take part in discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in the E3-plus-Ukraine format.
In a statement ahead of the meetings, the Ukrainian leader said discussions would focus on defence cooperation, strengthening Europe's air defence capabilities and coordinating positions on future peace negotiations.
He stressed that Europe must play a central role in any diplomatic process and remain united in its support for Ukraine.
Zelenskyy also confirmed that he is scheduled to meet King Charles III during the visit.
The Ukrainian president thanked the UK and its European partners for their continued support, saying their assistance has helped strengthen Ukraine's ability to defend itself against Russian attacks.
He reiterated calls for increased pressure on Moscow, saying Russia must bring an end to the war.
The meetings come as European leaders continue efforts to coordinate military, economic and diplomatic support for Ukraine amid ongoing fighting and uncertainty over future peace talks.
