Philippines amends travel restrictions, allows OFWs to fly out

Filipino migrant workers and foreign nationals are now allowed to leave the Philippines despite the Luzon-wide "enhanced community quarantine".

This was clarified by Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles during a press briefing, adding that they will only have to show proof of international travel.

He explained that only one person will be allowed to accompany a traveller, and should carry a copy of the airline ticket of the passenger as proof of conveyance.

Nograles added that the government amended their earlier decision to give all travellers a 72-hour window to fly out after evaluating the situation.

This comes as President Rodrigo Duterte placed the entire country under a state of calamity on Tuesday.
