The Kuwaiti army has confirmed its interception of Iranian missiles detected in its airspace on Saturday in accordance with approved operational procedures.
The Kuwaiti Public Authority for Civil Aviation also announced the closure of airspace on Saturday.
"This is a precautionary decision aimed at preserving safety and security of passengers, airlines and operations in Kuwait International Airport from any possible dangers," spokesman Abdullah Al-Rajhi told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
