The USA will suspend the implementation of its next tariff hike on Chinese imports.
It comes after two days of trade talks between the countries in Washington.
Donald Trump said negotiators had successfully reached a "phase one deal."
The US President said this would increase agricultural purchases as well as address issues like technology theft.
Meanwhile, Liu He, who is China's chief negotiator, told reports that he was "happy" with the progress of the talks.
