Abu Dhabi eases business expansion for firms registered in other emirates

WAM

Abu Dhabi's Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has announced new measures to support business growth and expansion across the emirate.

Under the new regulations, companies registered in other emirates and their free zones can now open branches in Abu Dhabi without needing a physical office for the first year.

This move aims to simplify business processes and provide easier access to the many opportunities within Abu Dhabi’s expanding economy.

As many as 1,200 economic activities across various sectors are exempt from needing physical premises for one year from the date of their licence issuance.

This decision aligns with Abu Dhabi's push to diversify its economy, with non-oil sectors seeing significant growth, now contributing 54% to the emirate’s total GDP.

Business owners from other emirates can apply for a new branch licence through the TAMM digital platform, streamlining the process with online document submissions, approvals and payments.
