VIDEO: Abu Dhabi launches car 'digital stickers' to enhance road safety

Abu Dhabi Police have introduced special 'digital stickers' to encourage drivers to follow the rules.

While entering the capital, patrol officers at security points will place these tags on the vehicles.

And, once the drivers scan the barcode on the sticker, they can view a road safety video.

It'll highlight the importance of giving way to pedestrians at crossings, leaving a safe distance between cars, and ensuring children below 10 are always buckled up and seated in the backseat.

Every week, a new topic will be introduced in a bid to raise awareness about road safety and good driving etiquette.

#شرطة_أبوظبي تزود المركبات بـ"ملصقات رقمية" لتعزيز السلامة المرورية . نفذت مديرية المرور والدوريات بشرطة أبوظبي مبادرة بتوزيع ملصقات على المركبات عند النقاط الأمنية في مداخل إمارة أبوظبي بهدف توعية السائقين مروريا بعدد من المحاور التي تستهدف تعزيز السلامة المرورية . وذكرت ان الملصقات لتسهيل حركة المرور عند النقاط الأمنية وايضا تحتوي على باركود من داخل المركبة يتم مسحه عن طريق كاميرا الهاتف المتحرك ويتحول إلى فيديو توعوي يحث السائقين للالتزام بها حفاظاً على سلامتهم ومرافقيهم ضمن اولويات استراتيجية السلامة المرورية للارتقاء بسلوك السائقين . وتضمنت موضوعات التوعية أهمية احترام عبور المشاة وترك مسافة أمان كافية بين المركبات وعدم تجاوز الإشارة الضوئية الحمراء وعدم جلوس الأطفال اقل من عشرة سنوات في المقاعد الأمامية والالتزام بالسرعات المقررة على الطرق. وأوضحت ان الفيديوهات ستتضمن موضوعا مروريا كل أسبوع لزيادة مستويات الوعي المروري لدى السائقين بما يسهم في ترسيخ الثقافة المرورية بالقيادة الأمنة والذي ينعكس إيجابيا على مؤشرات السلامة المرورية في الإمارة . #أنت_المسؤول #الجميع_مسؤول #في_أبوظبي ‏#InAbuDhabi #أبوظبي_أمن_وسلامة ‏‎‏#Abudhabi_safe_and_secure #الإمارات #أبوظبي #شرطة_أبوظبي #أخبار_شرطة_أبوظبي#الإعلام_الأمني ‏‎‏#UAE #AbuDhabi #ADPolice ‏‎‏#ADPolice_news ‏‎‏#security_media
