Dozens more wounded Palestinian children and cancer patients have arrived in the UAE to undergo treatment.
The group of 49 patients and their family members were evacuated from Gaza and transported to Abu Dhabi from Al Arish Airport in Egypt.
They are the ninth group of Gazans to arrive in the country under a humanitarian initiative aimed at supporting Palestinian people amid the war in Gaza.
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan had issued directives to provide medical treatment for 1,000 injured children and 1,000 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip in the UAE's hospitals.
Since the launch of the 'Gallant Knight 3' humanitarian operation on November 5, 2023, the UAE has dispatched 15,000 tonnes of food aid and installed water desalination stations with a total daily capacity of 1.2 million gallons, benefiting over 600,000 people in Gaza.
The UAE has also established a field hospital in Gaza, which has handled more than 2,600 cases so far.
