UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva have discussed ways to strengthen cooperation across a wide range of sectors under the two nations’ strategic partnership.
The meeting in Abu Dhabi took place as part of Lula da Silva’s working visit to the UAE, where he was warmly welcomed by His Highness.
The discussions highlighted progress in UAE–Brazil cooperation, particularly in economic, trade and development fields.
Both sides explored collaboration in advanced technology, space, renewable energy, sustainability, food security, education and logistics, while also identifying other areas of mutual interest to support sustainable development.
The two leaders also reviewed the ongoing UAE–Mercosur negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership, which have now reached their final stage.
They expressed hope that the agreement, once concluded, will open new opportunities for economic cooperation between the UAE and Brazil.
Sheikh Mohamed highlighted that UAE–Brazil relations, spanning over 50 years, continue to strengthen, reflecting shared long-term priorities and goals.
The two presidents also exchanged views on regional and global developments, emphasising the importance of supporting peace and stability both in the Middle East and worldwide.
