UAE attends 'Hackathon' in Lyon to tackle online crimes against children

WAM

The United Arab Emirates' Ministry of Interior (MOI), represented by its Child Protection Centre, participated in the 16th International Hackathon held in Lyon, France, organised by the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL).

The Hackathon brought together specialists from around the world in the fields of software and artificial intelligence to develop analytical and technical tools that support law enforcement efforts, particularly in analysing crimes committed against children online and finding innovative solutions to combat them.

The Centre's participation was the only Arab representation at the event, with Rashid Al Suwaidi, a civilian from the Child Protection Centre, serving on a team dedicated to developing smart solutions that contribute to creating analytical tools related to the language of crime in Arabic, supporting efforts to combat digital crimes and enhance child protection.
