Road radar devices and smart systems across Abu Dhabi will be activated to monitor movement during the National Sterilisation Programme.
Fines of AED 2,000 will be issued to those leaving their homes between 10pm and 6am for non-essential purposes.
Abu Dhabi Police say that patrols will also be intensified to ensure the public’s adherence to the rules, as authorities continue efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19.
They also urged residents to continue social distancing measures and to wear masks and gloves when out.
