His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Thursday announced a new programme to zero out government bureaucracy.
Taking to his official social media channels, Sheikh Mohammed said the programme will see the cancellation of 2,000 government procedures within a year, 50 per cent reduction of "unnecessary procedures" and reengineering of services.
His Highness added that those who succeed in meeting the targets will be rewarded, announcing "incentives amounting to AED 1 million for the employee or work teams".
"Our goal is to make people comfortable and serve people," he said, adding, "Our goal is to be the best government in the world".
