A centre authorised to provide visa and residency services has been shut down for violating COVID-19 precautionary measures.

The move was made by the Commercial Compliance & Consumer Protection (CCCP) sector in Dubai Economy in co-operation with the General Directorate of Residency & Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).

Also known as an Amer Centre, the facility in Riggat Al Buteen was found to have exceeded the 30 per cent staff limit.

It also failed to install a thermal scanner, display physical distancing stickers and special seating.

It was the only business that’s been shut down following inspections, which found that 1,028 firms across the city have complied with the measures.

Dubai Economy’s CCCP department calls on consumers to report violations on the Dubai Consumer App, calling 600545555, or on their official website.
