UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a special meeting for the UAE youth handball team and its staff to honour them for qualifying for the 2027 IHF Men's Junior World Championship.
The team qualified after finishing second at the 19th Asian Men's Junior Handball Championship in Zhuzhou, China.
The ceremony also included the technical and administrative staff.
His Highness highlighted that the team’s achievement at the Asian and international levels is a source of pride and reflects positively on UAE sport.
Sheikh Mohamed further underscored the importance of UAE sport keeping pace with the country’s continued progress across various areas of development, noting that sport is an integral part of the UAE’s comprehensive development.
