The UAE football team is eyeing an Olympic berth with a strong finish in the AFC under-23 championship which begin in Qatar on Wednesday. Sixteen sides are competing in the competition, which has three Olympic spots up for grabs. The UAE kick off their Group D campaign against Australia tomorrow. Jordan and Vietnam are their other opponents in the pool. Top two teams from each of the four groups will advance to the quarter-finals. The finalists, along with the third place play-off winner qualify for the Summer Olympics in Rio.
