Rajasthan Royals overcame Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 3 runs in a closely fought Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter on Wednesday.
The win takes Rajasthan to the top of the table after four games.
Chasing a target of 176, Chennai were restricted to 172 for 6 as seamer Sandeep Sharma kept MS Dhoni (32 off 17 balls) and Ravindra Jadeja (25 off 15 balls) under check in the last over.
Ravichandran Ashwin (2-25) and Yuzvendra Chahal (2-27) starred with the bowler for the visitors, while Devon Conway top scored for CSK with 50 off 38 balls.
After being put into bat first, Rajasthan posted 175 for 8 as Jos Buttler (52 off 36) scored his 18th IPL half-century, Devdutt Padikkal hit 38 off 26 balls, and Shimron Hetmyer (not out off 18 balls) and Ashwin scored 30 runs each.
Dhoni was felicitated prior to the match for captaining CSK for a 200th time in the IPL.
