Steve McClaren finally got his first EPL win as Newcastle boss, with a 6-2 hammering of Norwich. Georginio Wijnaldum scored four, with Ayoze Perez and Aleksandar Mitrovic also finding the net as the Toon climbed off the bottom of the table. Dieumerci Mbokani and Nathan Redmond got the visitors goals, as the Canaries made a fight of it in the first half, going in 3-2 down at the break. However, the hosts pulled away in the second half to ease the pressure on their new manager, and raise spirits ahead of next weekend’s trip to arch-rivals Sunderland.
