There’s good news for motorists as four new flyovers spanning 2.6 km are now open at the intersection of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Dubai-Al Ain Road.
A two-lane bridge at the junction of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street and Dubai-Al Ain Road has also been completed, along with two connecting roads facilitating U-Turns for motorists coming from Dubai.
The latest developments are part of the first phase of a AED 2 billion road improvement project in the area.
It will help double the capacity of Dubai-Al Ain Road from 6,000 to 12,000 vehicles per hour per direction.
The project will also cut the journey time on the highway - from Bu Kadra junction to Emirates Road junction, from 16 to 8 minutes.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council has reviewed the progress of the project.
