Police in Abu Dhabi are once again highlighting the dangers of stopping in the middle of the road.
They have released a video showing multi-car collisions caused by vehicles coming to a sudden halt as well as those triggered by distracted driving.
It’s part of efforts to raise awareness about road safety measures and how one person's recklessness can put the lives of many others in danger.
The authority has called on motorists to try to move to the hard shoulder if they meet with an accident or their vehicle breaks down.
It also urged drivers to avoid distracting behaviour, including using their phones, taking pictures or fixing their makeup.
Inattentive drivers could be slapped with an AED 800 fine and four black points on their licence.
