The UAE has strongly condemned the Israeli strikes on Iran, calling on the United Nations Security Council to take urgent and necessary measures to achieve a ceasefire.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) expressed its deep concern over the ongoing escalation and stressed the need to exercise restraint and judgment to prevent the expansion of the conflict.
The UAE also emphasised the need to resolve disputes through diplomatic means rather than confrontation and escalation.
The Ministry reaffirmed the UAE’s position adhering to international law and respecting the sovereignty of states constitute essential principles for resolving the crisis.
On Friday, Israel launched widescale strikes against Iran, saying it targeted nuclear facilities, ballistic missile factories and military commanders.
In retaliation, Iran launched about 100 drones towards Israeli territory.
