The UAE has stressed the importance of working to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and avoiding the expansion of conflict in the region.
It was highlighted during a meeting between Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Yair Lapid, the leader of the opposition in Israel.
Sheikh Abdullah stressed the necessity of pursuing a serious political solution, such as the "two-state solution," to achieve comprehensive peace and stability.
His Highness also emphasised the importance of working to reach a ceasefire and avoid the expansion of conflict in the region, noting that the priority is to end tension and violence, protect the lives of civilians, and make all efforts to facilitate the flow of urgent humanitarian aid to civilians in the Gaza Strip.
Sheikh Abdullah confirmed, in the “Arab Six” ministerial meeting, with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that great challenges face the Middle East region and that they require intensifying regional and international efforts in support of the path to peace.
His Highness also emphasised the UAE’s firm approach to supporting regional and global peace and stability, and its keenness to build bridges of cooperation with various countries.
