The UAE has launched four humanitarian initiatives in Syria as part of Operation Gallant Knight 2 to support those affected by an earthquake that struck the country in February.
These include the restoration and maintenance of 40 schools in Latakia Governorate and the provision of laptops and desktops to support the digital transformation of Tishreen University.
The latest projects also include the distribution of Eid clothes to nearly 44,000 people in Homs, Aleppo, Hama and Latakia governorates, as well as sacrificial animals for Eid that will benefit a total of 100,000 beneficiaries.
A delegation from the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) is in Syria to monitor the relief operations.
As part of Operation Gallant Knight 2, the UAE has already flown 184 aircraft to Syria, carrying essential food items and medical supplies.
