UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), on Sunday, to discuss cooperation with a focus on sustainable development and global economic growth.
The talks took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi during Georgieva’s visit to the UAE, ahead of her participation in the World Governments Summit 2026, which begins in Dubai on Tuesday.
Both sides exchanged views on a range of issues of mutual interest, including the importance of international cooperation in addressing global economic challenges.
Sheikh Mohamed stressed the need for innovative, forward-looking solutions that support long-term growth and respond to rapid global change, noting the UAE’s role as a key partner in advancing the global economy.
The meeting also underlined the significance of the World Governments Summit as a platform that brings together global leaders, policymakers and experts to share knowledge and develop ideas aimed at building a more resilient and sustainable global economy.
