UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has awarded the First Class Order of Independence to the United Kingdom’s ambassador to the UAE, Edward Hobart, in recognition of his role in strengthening ties between the two countries during his tenure.
The medal was presented by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during a meeting in Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Abdullah praised the ambassador’s contribution to advancing strategic cooperation and relations between the UAE and the UK across a range of sectors, and wished him success in his future roles.
Ambassador Hobart thanked Sheikh Mohamed for the honour and praised the strong relationship between the two countries.
He also expressed appreciation to UAE government entities for their support and cooperation during his diplomatic mission.
