The UAE has announced the success of its 26th mediation efforts between Russia and Ukraine that resulted in the release of 103 prisoners from each side.
This brings the total number of captives exchanged between the two countries through UAE-mediated efforts to 7,997.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) commended both countries for their cooperation with the UAE as a trusted international mediator and their appreciation of the nation's commitment to supporting all efforts to resolve the crisis.
The ministry also added that it will continue to ensure the success of all efforts aimed at finding a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine and mitigating the humanitarian impact of the crisis.
Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), commended the diplomatic and humanitarian efforts exerted by the UAE, contributing to the alleviation of human suffering and opening broader horizons for endeavors aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
