The UAE's "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3" has initiated a vital project aimed at repairing the damaged water supply networks in Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip.
The initiative, funded by the UAE in partnership with Khan Younis Municipality and the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility, is underway with the support of a specialized company.
This project is crucial for ensuring the delivery of water to residents of the governorate who have been struggling with severe water access issues due to infrastructure collapses and network destruction across various areas.
Following the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Khan Younis Municipality, efforts are now underway to restore main water wells, reservoirs and networks.
The ultimate goal of the MoU is to enable the municipality to better serve residents and displaced families in Khan Younis and mitigating health risks associated with water scarcity.
