The UAE has condemned the coup in Burkina Faso and the military seizure of the capital Ouagadougou.
It urged all parties to engage in dialogue and to exercise self-restraint while emphasising the need to achieve stability and security in the country and the region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said in a statement it has been closely following developments in Burkina Faso and reiterated its support to a political solution and dialogue within the framework of constitutional institutions and the rule of law.
