The UAE’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), Mohamed Abushahab, condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza during an open debate session held by the Council on Tuesday.
In a statement by the UAE Mission to the UN, the Ambassador urged the international community to intensify efforts towards an immediate ceasefire, access to humanitarian aid, the cessation of all settlement activities across Occupied Palestinian Territory, prevent a broader conflict in the region, and revive a peace process based on a two-state solution with a clear timeframe.
The open session by the UNSC sought to enhance dialogue on multilateral cooperation for a more sustainable world order. UN Ambassadors from across the globe were in attendance.
Today, Ambassador Abushahab delivered a statement at the @UN Security Council open debate on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian Question.
