Dubai Police have detected attempts by fraudsters to exploit current regional developments by sending out phishing links on the pretext of providing "latest updates".
The Anti-Fraud Centre at the General Department of Criminal Investigation said the messages impersonates official sources and attempts to steal the person's personal details.
The authority urged the public to obtain news and all updates from officially, verified channels.
The public is encouraged to report such fraudulent attempts by logging on to the Dubai Police smart app, by calling 901, or via the eCrime platform.
