Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed significant traffic improvements on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311), expanding Exit 55 leading to Al Rebat Street.
The upgrades along a 600-metre stretch involve extending the traffic overlap distance and adding a new lane, bringing the total to three lanes.
Travel time from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road to Al Rebat Street towards Business Bay Crossing is now reduced from 10 minutes to just 4 minutes, marking a significant 60 per cent decrease.
The surface expansion at Exit 55 directly improves traffic safety and increases capacity, boosting vehicle flow from 3,000 to 4,500 vehicles per hour – a 50 per cent increase.
This project is one of the RTA’s key initiatives for 2024, covering 45 locations across Dubai, aimed at enhancing road safety and keeping pace with the emirate's urban development and population growth.
