The UAE has decided to allow those with expired residency permits to return to the country without applying for a new visa or incurring any fines due to "exceptional circumstances beyond their control".
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) said the decision will remain in effect from February 28 to March 31.
It will apply to all residents with permits that were expired on or after February 28, and who were unable to return to the country due to airspace closures or flight suspensions.
The ICP reaffirmed its continued implementation of emergency response and business continuity plans across operational locations and airports in the UAE to ensure smooth procedures.
All concerned individuals are urged to follow official channels for updates.
