Stargazers are in for a treat as a rare celestial show will be visible over the UAE’s skies this evening.
It’s known as Transit of Mercury, where the small planet will pass directly between Earth and the Sun.
During this transit, Mercury will be visible as a tiny pinprick of darkness against the Sun’s surface.
Make sure to catch it while it lasts, as the next one is not expected for another 13 years.
Hasan Al Hariri, who is the CEO of the Dubai Astronomy Group, which is organising a public viewing session from 4:00 pm, says we'll need filtered telescopes and other optical aids to watch this phenomenon.
