The UAE is building strong polices that support gender equality. That’s according to experts at the UAE Gender Balance Council, who say Emirati women today hold 66% of all public sector jobs and 30% of all decision making positions within the government sector. They also represent 71% of all graduates and more than 1500 Emirati women are in Dubai Police, with 93 of them holding leadership positions. The UAE Gender Balance Council has introduced several initiatives to motivate organisations to review and address gender equality standards such as the new UAE Gender Balance Index. The index is a ranking system that measures gender balance in the workplace and is set to be rolled out across all government sectors over the next year. The event will also hold discussions on Dubai’s preparations to host the MENA region’s first Women’s Forum next year.
