Etihad Rail has launched a nationwide campaign inviting the public to nominate the first passenger to travel on its inaugural passenger service when trains begin operating on June 30.
The initiative, "The Passenger Who Represents Us All", will see one individual selected to occupy Seat 1 in Coach 1 on the first train departing Fujairah for Abu Dhabi.
Rather than recognising a public figure, Etihad Rail is asking people to nominate someone whose actions have made a positive difference to their community and whose contribution reflects the values of the UAE.
The selected passenger will become the first person to travel on the country's long-awaited passenger rail service, marking a significant milestone in the UAE's transport history.
Adhraa Almansoori, Executive Director of Commercial at Etihad Rail Mobility, said the honour is intended to celebrate the everyday individuals whose contributions help strengthen communities and move the country forward.
Nominations are open to members of the public, who can put forward a friend, family member, colleague or neighbour by explaining why they deserve the recognition.
The winner will be announced ahead of the inaugural Abu Dhabi-Fujairah service on June 30.
