Dubai Municipality has announced a major initiative to expand electric vehicle infrastructure across the city, with plans to install EV supercharging stations in 600 parking spaces at public parks, beaches and recreational areas.
The project, backed by an investment of AED 150 million, is being delivered in partnership with Emarat EV Charging Stations Company (UAEV).
The move is part of Dubai’s wider push to create more sustainable, future-ready public spaces — encouraging cleaner transport options while enhancing quality of life for residents and visitors.
Under the first phase, 75 supercharging stations will be installed across 150 parking bays over the next two years.
These will be strategically located in major parks, neighbourhood green spaces and popular public beaches, making EV charging more convenient across the emirate.
The initiative supports key long-term strategies, including Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33 and the Greenery and Parks Strategy 2040, while also encouraging greater private sector involvement in sustainable infrastructure.
Officials say integrating EV charging into high-traffic recreational destinations will not only support the city’s growing sustainable mobility network, but also improve the overall visitor experience.
It also aligns with the UAE’s broader vision to increase electric vehicle adoption to 50 per cent of all vehicles by 2050, contributing to national goals on clean energy and net zero emissions.
Once complete, visitors will be able to charge their vehicles while enjoying parks, beaches and outdoor activities — making environmentally friendly choices easier and part of everyday life.
