An Arab tourist who was celebrating New Year's Eve in Dubai was pleasantly surprised when Dubai Police returned his cash of AED 76,000 ($17,000) that he had forgotten in a taxi.
The officers took 30 minutes to return the lost cash after they were alerted about the incident on the Dubai Police app at 2:00 am on New Year's Day.
The tourist said he had forgotten the money in the cab while returning to his hotel after New Year's Eve celebrations.
Soon, a team from tourist police was set up, and they tracked the taxi "within a few minutes".
The Dubai Police praised the taxi driver also for "promptly assisting" the force in recovering the lost cash.
On his part, the tourist expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the officers for their prompt response and showcasing their commitment to maintaining the city's security and safety.
