Dubai Humanitarian has facilitated a third emergency aid airlift to support efforts to contain the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The latest mission was launched under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and in coordination with the European Union's humanitarian aid department, DG ECHO.
The flight departed Dubai and arrived in Entebbe, Uganda, on June 21, carrying more than 76 tonnes of life-saving humanitarian supplies for onward delivery to affected communities in the DRC.
Transported on a Dubai Royal Air Wing aircraft, the cargo included hygiene kits, fortified food biscuits, tents, two vehicles, as well as supplies to support safe and dignified burials.
The items were provided by humanitarian partners including the World Food Programme, UNICEF, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
The humanitarian cargo was valued at more than $223,000, while Dubai Humanitarian provided the air transport at an estimated logistics cost of $270,000.
Giuseppe Saba, CEO of Dubai Humanitarian, said the operation reflects the UAE's commitment to supporting rapid humanitarian action during crises and highlighted the strong cooperation between Dubai Humanitarian, the European Union and international aid partners.
The mission builds on growing collaboration between Dubai Humanitarian and DG ECHO following a cooperation agreement signed in 2025, reinforcing efforts to deliver critical assistance to vulnerable communities around the world.
