Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has expanded its Bus-On-Demand service to Al Satwa, Al Quoz and Mirdif, bringing the total number of areas served across the emirate to 20.
The app-based service offers flexible, affordable mobility options that connects neighbourhoods with public transport stations, making it easier for residents and visitors to get around.
Demand for the service continues to grow. In the first half of this year, more than 527,000 passengers used Bus-On-Demand, up 25 per cent compared with the same period last year.
June recorded the highest monthly ridership, with almost 106,000 passengers.
The RTA says the growth follows a major expansion of the service, with operating areas increasing by 54 per cent and the fleet growing to 55 buses.
Passengers can book trips through the Dubai Bus On Demand app and pay using credit cards, debit cards or nol cards.
The service covers areas including Al Barsha, Al Nahda, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai Academic City, Al Rigga, Port Saeed, Business Bay, Downtown Dubai, Oud Metha, Al Karama, Barsha Heights, Al Mankhool, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Al Warqaa, Dubai Investment Park, JVC, Al Qusais in addition to Al Satwa, Al Quoz and Mirdif.
