Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis & Disaster Management has announced amendments to travel protocols with the aim of easing procedures for passengers.
As per the latest changes, UAE citizens have been exempted from certain additional requirements without compromising on precautionary measures.
Dubai's arrival protocols state that Emiratis are not required to conduct a PCR test prior to departure regardless of the destination they come from or time spent there. They will only be required to undergo a PCR test upon arrival in Dubai.
For residents and tourists, a PCR test remains mandatory prior to departure for Dubai.
Meanwhile, a PCR test while leaving Dubai is mandatory only for passengers travelling to a destination that requires a pre-travel negative test certificate.

The amendments are based on the recommendations of frontline entities combatting the pandemic including the COVID-19 Command and Control Centre and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and a comprehensive assessment of the global situation.
The protocols also address the travel guidelines and requirements of different countries.
Officials have stressed the importance of implementing precautionary measures and protocols in all Dubai travel ports according to the recommendations of local and international authorities to ensure the safety of passengers, flight crew and airport employees.
