Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) is using artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure that residents are adhering to safety measures.
The authority has partnered with Derq, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) spin-off, to use their algorithms on pre-existing camera feeds.
The solution helps detect people who are violating safety guidelines, including those who disobey social distancing requirements and fail to wear masks.
Feeds from CCTV cameras in public community spaces are analyzed in real time in order to detect and report any violators.
DSOA has explained that this will help ensure the safety of community members and prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
